A Beautiful Morning

A Beautiful Morning

This morning I got up at 6:30a.m.! That’s late for me. My body is used to waking up at 5:00a.m. so I was happy with the extra hour & a half.

As soon as I was up, I ate oatmeal while reading blogs and then I was out the door for my long run of the week.

The plan for this morning was to run for an hour and ten minutes at easy pace (8:30-8:40).

I ran 8.26 miles in 1 hour 10 minutes, 8:29 average pace.

Per Coach Granato’s instructions, I kept an easy pace through the run. I felt so slow in the beginning but I’m working on not starting out too fast. I have never been able to run negative splits and that needs to change.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Sunny, around 70 degrees, with a cool breeze. <3

My right leg felt sore around mile 7. It’s crazy how weak it got from wearing the boot for a month. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to wear it any longer.

I spent the rest of my day running errands, doing laundry, and rolling around in the grass with this cute pup. 🙂

Don’t forget to enter my raffle to win Cubs tickets. I’m proud to be running with DetermiNation and I’m shooting to raise $1,000. Please consider supporting me with a donation. My Fundraising Page.

  1. Great run!

    I love your pup!!

  2. So glad to hear you had a great morning run! I’m going to pretend that pain doesn’t exist and then it’s going to go away. Just you watch!

And your “slow” pace is super speedy to me! I wish I could run that fast!

  3. That’s a great run! And it must have been amazing to be in the 70s! I fear down here in NC that won’t happen for quite some time 🙁 . 6:30 is late for you? Oh my!! LOL…I’m hoping my leg doesn’t develop weakness from the boot. I’m trying to walk as much as I can to strengthen it until I can run!

It’s my dog nephew!!! Give him a kiss for me!

I’m so happy you have a coach to help guide you through this challenging time! I love to watch you push yourself to be the best you can be, but this also means taking it “slow” (though I’d love to run an 8 min mile :P) sometimes!
