My baby girl turned 8 months old yesterday!
Allie’s personality is really starting to shine. We love seeing her spunk and she’s constantly making us laugh and smile. She’s really been discovering the world around her, grabbing and reaching for everything, and rolling around the living room. Yesterday she started putting weight on her knees to lift herself up so we think she’s going to start crawling soon. Eek!
Her smile can light up a room, she smiles with her whole body and I hope she always smiles that big. When we tickle her or when she is tired she’ll giggle and make these hilarious squawking sounds.
What’s new this month:
- pulling herself forward
- putting a little weight on her knees
- her first tooth came through on the bottom
- reaching for any and everything she can get her hands on
- switching from 3 naps down to 2
- started kicking and splashing in the bath
- loves food so much more than before
- tried chicken for the first time
Likes:
- reading books
- being outside
- putting everything in her mouth
- playing with tags
- sleeping in the car
- sleeping on her stomach
- watching me workout during stroller strides
- FOOD!
Dislikes:
- when I don’t feed her fast enough
- being tired
- when I leave the room
Eating: She drinks 5 bottles a day, the first two are 6 oz. bottles and the last three are 4 oz. I give her breakfast in the morning, usually fruit, I’ll give her a little bit of what I’m eating at lunch, and then she’ll get a veggie and some protein for dinner. I’ve been giving her purees, but within the last week I started giving her chunks of soft food so she can practice feeding herself.
Sleep: Sleep has been a hit or miss lately. The past three weeks she’s been waking up at least once a night and I think it’s because she’s teething. We always put her down at 6:30pm because if we wait any longer she’ll throw a fit. We’ve a had a couple late dinners out so I’ve been bringing the tula and I’ll wear her during dinner and it keeps her happy. She still takes a morning nap two hours after she wakes and instead of two short naps she’s now switched to one longer nap in the afternoon.
She’s wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothes.
Allie and I are staying busy and that’s why I haven’t been blogging. We are usually out of the house from 9am-3pm going to stroller strides, or play dates so I’m never on my computer. I only get on about once a week which is crazy because I use to live on my computer. I love every single day being Allie’s Mom. I’ve never been happier!

I love these monthly updates on sweet Allie! Can’t believe she’s already 8 months!! I’ve been the same way with blogging – I’m focusing on just enjoying motherhood right now and getting an adequate amount of sleep. For so long, I would wake up at 5am to get work done because Little Miss was up for the day and I just haven’t been able or even wanted to do that lately. Blogging will always be there for us, but these little babes grow so fast that it’s way more important for us to live in the moment and enjoy them!! 🙂
