Life Lately 12.8.15

It’s been a busy couple of weeks! Since Thanksgiving we’ve had a couple of birthday celebrations, started and almost finished our Christmas shopping, and I’ve had a few exciting job opportunities come up.

Coach Sara

I have two mindful eating clinics I’m conducting this weekend at Fleet Feet Sports Chicago and I was offered a part time coaching job with Children’s Tumor Foundation. They came to me asking if I would like to coach their spring program this year and of course I said yes. The runners will be training for the Big Sur Marathon and the London Marathon. At first, I was a little nervous to say yes because I don’t have a lot of time to be on the computer and create training plans while being a full time Mom, but I talked to Tony and we agreed it’s a great opportunity so we’re going to make it work. I love the foundation, it’s for a great cause, and the extra money will be nice since we still have a lot of work we want to do on our house.

Hanukkah

We had a Hanukkah party at my sister’s house on Sunday. I was raised Jewish so we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. 🙂

Allie

Two weekends ago we had Allie’s 3 month photos taken and a couple of family shots. Allie was so happy while waiting for our pictures to be taken and the second we got into the room she started screaming. I brought her a bottle, but that didn’t help her settle down. She hated every second of it. I told them to take a few pictures of her anyway and I think the one of her crying is adorable. It was a stressful experience, but I know I’ll love looking back at these memories.

3 months

I bought a beautiful dress for her to wear, but we didn’t try it on until the morning of our pictures and the dress was huge! I had a bow for her to wear too, but she ripped that off her head right away.

grandma

I love this picture of grandma, Lylah, and Allie!

tony

Last week we celebrated Tony’s and my Mom’s birthday. My Mom offered to watch Allie the day before their birthday so we could have our first night out without Allie. We went to L. Woods in Lincolnwood and had such a nice dinner. Of course, we missed Allie like crazy, but it was really nice to have some adult time together.

shakeology

I started the 21 day fix and started drinking Shakeology.

I’ve been hearing about beachbody and Shakeology for years! I never thought I would want to try it because it seems ridiculous and so salesy. But here I am, with no time for breakfast because of my 3 month old baby, and I don’t have much time to workout. I’m exited to try something new other than running (of course I’ll still be running) and I’m hoping I’ll have more energy and great results. However, if I don’t like it I will let you know that too. I promise to share my honest feelings and honest review!

And that’s what I’ve been up to lately!

What’s going on in your life?

  1. Love all the pics of Allie! She seems so happy in all of her pictures, yet of course when you go to a professional photographer she decides to cry. 🙂 Congrats on your new job, how exciting!

  2. I love all of the photos, even the crying one! Let me know if you want to get together sometime and I can bring my camera – I don’t have a professional setup anymore, but I could try to get a couple more shots of her 🙂

  3. Glad to hear things are going well! Breakfast is so tough! I’ve been loving my freezer steel cut oats I made- although it’s torture because I typically warm them up, feed the baby, rewarm them up and then eat. By then I’m starving! 😉

  4. The photo of Allie crying is priceless! I think you’ve gotta have some of the less perfect photos to capture/remember each phase.
    Congrats on the new job!
Interested to hear what you think of Shakeology & the 21 Day Fix. I’ve been curious about it as well but haven’t tried yet.

  5. Before I forget, I adore that picture of Allie. CRACK ME UP
Congrats on the coaching job! Will that be taking you away from CES? Not that I’m contributing all that much right now. I definitely think that you should embrace it–who knows where it could lead! Really, really excited and happy for you.

  7. Oh man, isn’t that how it always goes? Happy as a clam when it “doesn’t matter” and then miserable when it does. Kids!! The crying picture is ADORABLE though! And congrats on the new job!

  8. Aww, that’s too bad the dress didn’t fit and she was upset! It’s so hard to take pictures of babies. I don’t know how people do it. I took my own newborn photos. I got a few good ones when she was sleeping but any other time I tried, it was bloody murder screams! So sad.

I tried Shakeology a few months back and loved the taste and how it made me feel, but I unfortunately had to stop because it made Claire so gassy and wakeful. I hope you get better results!

  9. Stop….Allie crying while wearing that little owl hat is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Gah! I love her!! Owls are my favorite too, especially when babies wear them hah. Don’t worry…every single photo shoot with Little Miss until I think almost 11 months was a hot mess express. Remember our Christmas card last year? Mean mugging the entire time LOL! Congrats on all the exciting new job opportunities, that’s so awesome!

Also, I’ve been really working on my photography skills and invested in a super nice camera and lighting, etc. I’d be happy to snap some of Allie next time we get together if you want to try to again with pics of her solo. I know kids are so unpredictable, especially when you want to take a nice pic! Miss both of you ladies!! 🙂

  10. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas, Sara! Congratulations on being asked to coach for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. You are the PERFECT person for that role and it is going to be SO REWARDING. Those pictures of Allie are adorable, despite her being in tears. I am a big fan of keeping things real. =) I’ve heard a ton about Shakeology so I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
