Transfer Day

Transfer Day

I am officially PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise)! I woke up this morning feeling excited and eager to go downtown and get started with the transfer. Our appointment was scheduled for 12:45PM and Tony and I arrived at 11:00AM… we were ready! Luckily, our nurse called our names after a short 15 minute wait and we were ready to go.

With the holidays right around the corner Dr. Feinberg told me she didn’t know if it would be her or one of her partners doing the transfer so I was pleasantly surprised to her smiling face walk through the door. Dr. Feinberg is one of the sweetest ladies you could meet and we have a similar story. She had to go through IVF to have children because she had been a runner for many years and her estrogen wouldn’t rise with out the help from hormones.

After hearing our embryo had been thawed and was it good condition, all of my fears went away and I felt very content. The transfer only took about 10 minutes. Tony was able to stay in the room and take pictures of the embryo and ultrasound.

The worst part of the entire process actually happened when we left. They had me take 10mg of Valium to calm my nerves and help my muscles relax, but I had a terrible reaction. As soon as we got into the car the world felt like it was spinning and I thought I was going to be sick. We made it home quickly and thankfully I was able to sleep it off and feel completely fine now.

The bed rest has begun and I’m already feeling antsy. It’s funny to hear everyone talking about their two week winter break starting today and my two week wait starting as well. I’m on bed rest for 48 hours, and then taking it easy until December 29 when I’ll go in for my pregnancy test. I’m going to stay positive and worry free during this time. There’s no reason for me to stress. I really believe we’ll hear good news on the 29!

Thank you to all my family and friends for all the support and well wishes. You have no idea how much it means to me.ย
