Weekend Highlights ~Cubs Convention~

Yesterday I thought I was getting a cold, but it turned out to be some version of the flu. Today I’ve been dealing with a migraine, runny nose, body aches, and a high fever. I’ve slept most of the day except for leaving the house to go to the walk-in clinic and the store to buy some soup. Being sick is no fun.

Anyway, I’ll stop whining. I had a really good weekend…

Cubs Convention

After work on Friday, Tony, Mark (Tony’s best friend) and I drove to the Sheraton Hotel downtown because my Dad was staying there for the Cubs Convention. Right when we walked in we were surrounded by hundreds of Cubs fans. Tony being a Milwaukee Brewers fan didn’t love it so much, but he was a good sport. We then went to Emilio’s Tapas for dinner.

Cubs Convention

On Saturday we went to a Q&A session with the Cubs management panel. After the session was over my Dad was able to get near Theo Epstein and he was nice enough to take a picture with me.

The best part of the convention was being with my Dad and seeing him so happy. He is Cubs season ticket holder and even though he lives 1.5 hours away he goes to almost every game. He truly is the Cubs biggest fan.

After the convention we went to Dao Thai for dinner and had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We ordered enough food to feed 10 people and it all cost under $100. I highly recommend the Shrimp Wonton soup.

What were the highlights from your weekend?
