Woodstock Farmer’s Market

Happy almost 4th of July!

How’s your holiday weekend been so far? I’ve been doing a whole lot of relaxing, and it’s been fantastic.

Saturday started off with a bang when I did my long run of the week.

I ran 9.57 miles in 1 hour 20 minutes, 8:21 average pace.

It was 77 degrees with 88% humidity when I started at 5:30a.m. I don’t want to know what it felt like to be running out there at 9:00a.m. I kept an easy pace throughout the run. Mile 9 was a little slower because I was going up a big hill near my house.

Once I  showered, I refueled with a strawberry smoothie from Jamba Juice. This was exactly what I was craving. Delicious. 🙂

Next stop, Woodstock Farmer’s Market.

The market, is located on the Historic Woodstock Square. Fun Fact: The movie “Groundhog Day” was filmed here. This was a very big deal for a small town like Woodstock and they still have a big celebration on February 2nd every year.

I was surprised to learn that the market only allows products that are grown, produced, or made by the local Farmer or Artisan. Love it!

I couldn’t go to the Farmer’s Market without buying some of Jaci’s Cookies. I’ve known Jaci since I was 12 years old and I have always being in awe of her cooking and baking skills. Jaci’s Cookies are  made from scratch, are  fresh, and taste homemade. It was really nice to see an old friend.

Tonight I’m going to be hanging out with family and my pup. I have a tempo run planned for the morning (yay!) and then I’ll be getting ready for our 4th of July BBQ.
