Pregnancy Update – 22 Weeks

Pregnancy Update – 22 Weeks

It’s raining here in Chicago and I’m feeling a little blah. The weather was perfect this past weekend so I spent as much time as I could outside. I hope the weather clears up for the coming weekend. I have another long run (11 miles) planned for Saturday and then spending Sunday with my family for Mother’s Day. I know I’m not officially a Mother yet, but it sure feels like I am. I’m growing this little human inside of me and I can’t even describe how much I love her.

Pregnancy Update – 22 Weeks

22 weeks

22 weeks down and 18 to go! Baby Allie is the size of a spaghetti squash – my favorite vegetable! She is about 8 inches long and weighs 1 pound.

I had my monthly doctor’s appointment yesterday and everything is going really well. I told my doctor I’m not having a lot of negative side effects and she thinks it’s because I’m staying active. A lot of women experience more pain when they sit around too much. She told me to keep running, but expects I’ll be slowing down soon. After the Soldier Field 10 Mile race I’ll be cutting my long runs short to around 4-5 miles. My main goal is to keep moving and stay active each day until I go into labor.

How far along? 22 weeks + 2 days

Due date? September 6, 2015

Baby’s size? Baby Allie is the size of a spaghetti squash.

Workouts: Ran 17 miles total for the week.

Monday: 2 easy miles outside.
Tuesday: 2 difficult miles outside. I ran right after I ate lunch and I felt like I might explode. I won’t be doing that again.
Wednesday: 30 min walk on the treadmill + two long walks with Mom & Max.
Thursday: 3 mile run around Evanston.
Friday: Rest but took 3 long walks so I made it to 12,000 steps.
Saturday: 10 miles while coaching with CES. First time I’ve hit double digits since I started fertility treatments last year in April. It was a big accomplishment and I felt really proud of myself.
Sunday: Rest + 2 long walks. I was feeling a little sore from the 10 miles the day before.

Maternity clothes? Yep, but I didn’t buy anything new this week. I’ll probably buy a new workout top for the Solider Field 10 Mile race.

Sleep: Slept really well this week and I can tell my body needs it. I don’t feel well when I only get 7-8 hours so I’m aiming for 10 hours each night.

Best moment this week: Running 10 miles with CES!

Miss Anything? My old body and fitting into my clothes.

Movement: I’m feeling her move more around my bikini line.

Food cravings: Chipotle salad bowls are heaven!!!! I could eat one every day. And I’m still craving frozen yogurt, fruit and spring rolls.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week! :)

Gender: Girl!

Name: Allison Kay Larsen

Symptoms: My running pace is getting slower and my baby bump is getting bigger.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy 90% of the time, but feeling a little moody today because of the rain.

Looking forward to: Celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend and running 11 miles!
