4th Of July Festivities

Happy Monday Tuesday!

How was your holiday weekend?

Like all long weekends, this one came and went way too fast.

Yesterday started with a tempo run, followed by a relaxing afternoon, which involved a BBQ at my parents, lots of good food + drinks, games, and fireworks.

Last 4th of July I was living in Orlando, FL and a few weeks away from moving in with my ex. I had so many mixed emotions about it. Feeling so anxious and nervous to move in with him should have been a big sign for me to SLOW down and reevaluate things.

A lot has changed in the past year – all good things, and I’m happy to be back near my family and friends!

After we ate, drank, and ate some more it was time to head over to watch the fireworks. We walked a few blocks to Emricson Park where Woodstock’s fireworks are held every year.

My friend Kristen & her husband Shawn

For a small town, Woodstock’s fireworks are fantastic.

Then we walked back to the house for dessert. Kristen made these amazing vegan – vanilla & chocolate cupcakes with red, white, & blue frosting. They were delicious. 🙂

ONLY 5 days left to enter my raffle to win Cubs tickets. I’m proud to be running with DetermiNation and I’m shooting to raise $1,000. Please consider supporting me with a donation. My Fundraising Page.

  4. Sara, we are so alike it scares me! I have been reflecting a lot recently on where I was a year ago as well. I have a feeling that if we ever meet we will have a TON to talk about! Here’s to both of us being in a much better place now! XOXO
