Enjoy The Journey

Enjoy The Journey

Life gets too overwhelming when I think about committing to something for the rest of my life. These thoughts become paralyzing and I usually end up sabotaging myself.

I don’t have to be perfect or do great things all at once. I can only do the best I can today.

Obsessing over my new career, moving to Chicago, living on my own, and qualifying for Boston leaves me feeling vulnerable and uncertain.

I’m going to stop worrying and have faith that it’s all going to work out. I’m going to take everything one day at a time and enjoy the journey.

How do you deal with change and feeling overwhelmed?

  1. There’s a lot of change going on in your life, but it’s all GOOD stuff! You are so determined–it will all work out. It may be tough, but it’s worth it. If you need help moving, let me know! I’m around!

  2. We are so on the same page sometimes, it’s not even funny! I’ve been pretty stressed about the same kinds of things (although I could never qualify for Boston! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) over the last few days and I reminded myself yesterday that I need to step back, take a deep breath, and be grateful. While the transition is hard, you are finally on the path you want to be on! Enjoy the journey sounds like the perfect mantra to me. You are exactly where you’re supposed to be.

    • Thanks Melissa! I really wished we lived closer to each other! Maybe we both don’t deal with change very well.. even when it’s a good change.

  3. Sara,

I love that you expressed how you’re feeling with these changes bec it really does help to just get it out. You’re so right, you don’t have to be perfect AND if you don’t love this career path (although I know you’re going to rock it) then you can excel at something else you chose.

You are amazing for setting these high goals and doing your best to achieve them is all you can ask of yourself ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks Jenny. I want to be honest with everyone reading. I have lots of good changes going on but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

  4. I think this worrying about uncertainty is completely normal. I could never tell you, “Just stop worrying!,” because that’s easier said than done! And when I had more uncertainties than I presently do, that kinda bothered me when people would tell me that without any real sound advice! Just trust your gut and take it day by day. You are an amazing chick and I believe in you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Totally understandable that you have some uncertainty in your life — we’re just at that age/life stage right now ๐Ÿ™‚ I think you hit the nail on the head — faith is a wonderful thing, and it gets me through everything knowing that God has wonderful plans for us! Congrats again on your new job! ๐Ÿ™‚
