Pregnancy Update – 38 Weeks

Pregnancy Update – 38 Weeks

Wow, we are already at 38 weeks! Time is somehow simultaneously flying by and crawling.

TMI ——–> We’ve had some excitement the last couple of days. I lost my mucus plug yesterday and had some blood spotting today (also known as your “bloody show”). At first when I saw the blood I started crying and I was worried there was something wrong with Allie, but I called my doctor and she said it just means things are progressing and the blood means I’m dilating. YAY, it’s starting to get real.

On Monday I found out I’ve lost 6 pounds the last two weeks so I’ve been making sure to eat as much as I can fit into my stomach and I’ve been enjoying a few extra treats. I have a Dairy Queen blizzard in the freezer waiting for me as I type this. 🙂

Pregnancy Update –  38 Weeks

38 Weeks

How far along? 38 weeks

Due date? September 6, 2015

Total weight gain: 22 pounds (I lost 4 pounds this past week).

Baby’s size? Baby Allie is the size of swiss chard (around 22 inches and 6.5 lbs.).

Workouts: I took off coaching and didn’t run much because I’ve been having a lot of lower back pain.

  • Monday: 2 mile run + 2 mile walk
  • Tuesday: 3 mile walk
  • Wednesday: 5 mile walk
  • Thursday: 3 mile run/walk intervals
  • Friday: 50 min power walk on treadmill + an upper body workout
  • Saturday: 3 mile walk on treadmill + 3 miles walking around Wrigley Field before the Cubs game
  • Sunday: Rest

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing the same outfits over and over again.

Sleep: The cramping has been keeping me up, but I’m still getting at least 8 hours each night.

Best moments this week: Tony and I took a half day off work to go to the beach on Wednesday. We know our S + T time is limited so we trying to make it special and really enjoy our alone time. After the beach Tony grilled a few of my favorite foods. Spaghetti squash, asparagus, brussel sprouts, and chicken, mushroom and onion kabobs. It was a great night.

Grilling

I went to a Cubs game with my Dad and a family friend on Saturday. The day started a little rough when I couldn’t find parking and had to walk 3 miles to get to Wrigley Field. I was having a lot of contractions and lower back pain, but they eventually went away and I was able to really enjoy the game.

Superdawg

My Dad brought me Superdawg, the best hot dog in Chicago. I haven’t had one since I was a little kid and it was amazing! When my Mom was pregnant with me and my sister she would eat Superdawg at least once a week and I totally understand why.

Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach and running.

Movement: She’s moving at night, but I can only feel small movements now that there’s not much room for her.

Food cravings: French fries, fruit, and PB&J.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Gender: Girl!

Name: Allison Kay Larsen

Symptoms: Lots of lower back pain and cramping.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: Feeling excited to meet Allie soon!

Looking forward to: My next OB appointment tomorrow.

Baby items purchased/received: My step-mom, Marcella bought a really cute night gown I might bring to the hospital for Allie to wear.
