Pregnancy Update – Week 6

Pregnancy Update – Week 6

Happy Saturday! We have a heat wave going on here in Chicago. The temps are in the 40s and the lake front running path was packed. It was a fun morning coaching with CES because we had such a good turn out. I missed the last few Saturdays when I was on vacation so it was really nice to catch up with my CES friends.

Yesterday I had another ultrasound! Tony is in Germany for work so my Mom came with me. I was feeling extremely nervous and anxious so I really needed someone to come with and it was exciting because we were able to see the baby’s heart beat! Tomorrow I will be 7 weeks pregnant and with each passing week I feel a little better about things. Right now I’m trying to take it day by day, but I can’t wait until we’re past the first trimester.

Baby Larsen 6 weeks 5 days

Pregnancy Update – 6 Weeks

How far along? 6 weeks & 6 days

Due date? September 7

Baby’s size? A grain of rice. It looks like baby Larsen doubled in size from last week.

Total weight gain: 4 pounds, but this gain was from the hormones during IVF.

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Good! I’ve been exhausted and going to bed around 8:30-9:00pm most nights.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby Larsen’s heart beat. My Mom and I cried!  It’s so assuring to know that everything looks good.

Miss Anything? RUNNING, sushi, and wine.

Movement: Not yet.

Food cravings: CARBS!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Strange smells and veggies.

Gender: TBD

Name: TBD

Symptoms: Feeling exhausted, hungry, and nauseous.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy, but feeling more emotional than usual. I found myself crying to a Gilmore Girls episode last night.

Looking forward to: To be able to start jogging! My doctor told me I could slowly start “jogging”. They want me to start really slow, but I’m excited to finally be able to move a little more.

SaraTony asked me to take a picture of myself because he wanted to see my glow. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

  6. Wow, congrats! That’s early to have an ultrasound! I had to wait until about 10 weeks I think. It was the longest 10 weeks of my life!

I am new to your blog so I don’t know the full story, but what was your doctor’s reasoning in telling you to not run anymore? My doctor also immediately advised me to not run anymore even though nothing about my pregnancy is abnormal or high risk. I was really disappointed. I haven’t had ANY energy, so I let running go, but I just don’t get their recommendations. Plenty of pregnant women run! I think some of their advice is a little outdated…

    • Thank you! I went through IVF so I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks. I go in once a week until I get discharged to my regular OBGYN.

I haven’t been able to run because my hormone levels are too low. I take injections twice a day. Running suppresses them so I have to be really careful. I actually started run/walk intervals this week. It was the first time I’ve ran in 6 months & it was glorious! 🙂
