Logan – 6 Month Update

Logan – 6 Month Update

Logan turned 6 months last week! Things are FINALLY starting to get a little easier. As I type this, Logan is napping in his crib!! He has been napping and sleeping with me for the past 6 months so this is a big change. I started sleep training 2 weeks ago using the Ferber method where you let them cry it out, but you go in and check on them every 10 minutes. The first night he cried for over 2 hours. Napping was much easier, he would only cry for 20-30 minutes and now 2 weeks later he’s finally going down easier at night. Last night I put him down and he didn’t cry at all and he slept until 3am. Sleep training is NOT easy because I hate hearing my baby cry, but he needs to learn how to sleep in his crib.

Likes:

  • being held by mommy
  • getting up on his knees and rocking
  • putting everything in his mouth
  • sleeping on his stomach
  • watching mommy and Allie dance
  • being in the car seat

Dislikes:

  • being hungry
  • being put in his crib
  • teething
  • not being picked up
  • most foods

Eating: We are officially done nursing. I slowly started cutting back on our nursing sessions two weeks ago. I’m extremely happy for making it as long as I did.

We started giving Logan solids! We’ve given him: avocado, sweet potato, banana, peanut butter, applesauce, and peas. He doesn’t really like any of it yet and most of the food seems to be upsetting his stomach.

He is wearing size 4 diapers and 9 month clothes.

He gets up on his knees and rocks and scoots forward – he will be crawling soon!

He can almost sit up all by himself.

Happy half birthday, Logan!

  1. I dread sleep training! We aren’t so great at self soothing over here. Good for you for nursing so long! That is my goal as well. He and emmie sound like a match made in heaven….

    • The first week of sleep training is hard, but it’s so worth it! Now logan is a great sleeper! Text me when you think about doing it.
