The first weekend of October was a busy one. We kicked it off with a special lunch on Friday when we took Allie to her first restaurant. We went to one of my favorites, Lyfe Kitchen in Evanston. I ordered the veggie burger, sweet potato fries, and hibiscus tea and it did not disappoint. If I lived closer, our bank account would be in trouble. I could eat there everyday.
Allie was amazing and slept through our whole lunch. I’m not sure where my fussy baby has gone! She’s been sleeping and an absolute angel the last few days. I know this stage won’t last, so I’m enjoy every second of it.
On Saturday, we met my new friend, Carrie, her husband Chris and their baby Logan at Harvest Fest in Highland Park. I met Carrie on helloMamas website and this is the second time we’ve hung out. Her baby, Logan is 11 weeks and I’m really looking forward to a lot more play dates together in the future.
Sunday was an early birthday celebration with family. Long are the days of going out to a bar to celebrate. Now we celebrate our birthday by taking the kids to a pumpkin patch/animal zoo.
After the pumpkin patch we went to my sister’s house to celebrate with sushi. It was my first time eating sushi since I got pregnant.
I enjoyed my sushi with Allison in my arms and I was in heaven. It was the perfect way to kick off our birthday week.
What a fun weekend! We should plan a play date once my little one is here. π
Also-I can’t wait for sushi!!!

I would love to meet for play dates! π
It’s always funny to think about how you used to celebrate pre-babies. Haha! Sounds like y’all had a fantastic weekend though!

I know! Things have really changed, but I think it’s for the better.
I”m glad that you aren’t taking the kids to a bar. That wouldn’t be the best choice. And seriously, Allie and I were matching. It was hilarious. She has excellent taste in clothes π

Hah, tell that to my husband. He wants to bring Allie out to the bar on my actual birthday on Wednesday. He’s cray.
HAPPY (almost) BIRTHDAY!! Sounds like such a fun way to celebrate. π

Aw! Happy almost 30th!! What a fun way to celebrate your birthday, I would take the pumpkin patch over a bar any day. Sounds like a wonderful time with the family π

Me too, Christina! I’m so glad I don’t have to pretend to enjoy going out to bars anymore. I’d rather do a fun activity with family.
Hooray for Birthday Week! I like to make the celebrations last as long as possible. Although they sure are different now than before pregnancy & babies!
Sushi sounds sooo good. T minus 10 weeks for me! (Hopefully not more). π

Sushi was amazing. It’s my 30th so we are celebrating all week! ?
Allie’s coat is adorable! I love it. My birthday was Mary’s four week birthday. I actually forgot that it was my birthday until Rock told me. And then we were hanging out that evening with his brother (who I don’t think ever even found out it was my birthday) and I ended up just making us Chinese food for dinner. Wow, how things change.

That’s hilarious. I probably would have forgot mine except my twin sister wants to make the whole week special because it’s our 30th. She doesn’t have a newborn to distract her.
