Grandma’s Crescent Cookies

Grandma’s Crescent Cookies

I have been staying busy trying to keep my mind off the two week wait. I am now 4 days past my embryo transfer and I’m still feeling really good and positive. The holidays have been such a good distraction. Yesterday and today my Mom and I have been busy baking for our annual Holiday Party. I was raised Jewish but some of our family are Christian so instead of having two separate celebrations we combine the parties and celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas together.

Crescent Cookies

I couldn’t show you all these scrumptious treats without sharing a recipe. My Mom makes Grandma’s Crescent Cookies every year and they are a hit.

Grandma’s Crescent Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 5 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • Confectionary sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.
  2. Sift together flour and salt and cream the butter.
  3. Add sugar, vanilla, water and blend in the flour.
  4. Add pecans and mix thoroughly.
  5. Portion about the size of a small walnut for each cookie, roll into crescent shapes and place on greased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes. While the cookies are still warm roll into confectionary sugar and enjoy!

How are you celebrating the holidays?
