Pregnancy Update – 18 Weeks

The last couple of days have been all about sports. On Sunday I went to the Chicago Cubs opening night with my Dad and last night we watched our beloved Wisconsin Badgers lose to Duke in the NCAA final championship. My Dad and husband are both Wisconsin Alumni so it was a very sad day in our house.

Pregnancy Update – 18 Weeks18 Weeks

How far along? 18 weeks + 2 days

Due date? September 6, 2015

Baby’s size? She’s the size of a bell pepper. Her hearing has now developed so that she can hear the sounds coming from outside the womb much clearer. Maybe I should start reading books to her?

Workouts: Still running 4x’s a week and walking 10,000 steps on my rest days. I also lift weights for 10 minutes a couple of times a week. On Saturday I ran 7 miles with CES and felt fantastic. I’m looking forward to our 8 mile run this weekend.

Maternity clothes? I bought another maternity shirt from Target so that makes two maternity items I own. I’m going to wait a couple more weeks before I buy anything else.

Stretch marks? No, and I didn’t use much coconut oil this week. I should probably be better about that.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping great! I feel bad for all the other Moms that can’t sleep during pregnancy. I’m usually in bed around 8:30-9:00pm, fall asleep around 10:00pm and then up at 8:00am. I do wake up a couple of times to pee, but it doesn’t bother me.

Best moment this week: Spending the entire week with Max! We have been walking around 3-4 miles a day and I love every minute of it. I’m going to be sad when he leaves on Thursday.

Miss Anything? I’m not really missing anything. I physically feel great and I spend almost every waking moment dreaming about this amazing gift we have. I have wanted to be a Mom since I was a little girl and it feels like my dream is finally coming true.

Movement: Feeling flutters, but no big movements yet.

Food cravings: I’m still obsessed with Mariano’s spring rolls, PB&J, and green grapes.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week! :)

Gender: Girl!

Name: Allison Kay Larsen

Symptoms: The pimples/rash on my face hasn’t gone away and I’m definitely starting to show more.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy! I haven’t felt moody at all this week.

Looking forward to: Ordering the nursery furniture so we can start to put some of Allie’s clothes away.

  1. I’m glad to hear that you’re sleeping so well! I slept fairly well during pregnancy too until the end, and I’m nervous about how little sleep I’ll get the second time around in comparison. Eek!

  3. I love the picture of the lakefront. That is great that you had tickets for opening day! What did you think of that giant sign at Wrigley? I like how you compare Allison’s size to fruit and vegetables! 🙂

    • Pete – the giant screen at Wrigley is AWESOME!!!! It makes the whole game more engaging. You can actually see the player’s faces and they play a bunch of fun videos during the breaks. I love it!

  4. Good for you, for keeping up with running! I’ve decided not to run during this pregnancy, but I do kind of miss it now that it’s nice outside. I feel the same way — so happy that my dream of becoming a mom is coming true!
