Pregnancy Update – 28 Weeks

28 week pregnant

Only 12 more weeks until we meet baby Allie! I’m a little surprised to be feeling this good during the third trimester. I’m hoping it stays like this until the end, but I’ve been told it might start to change within the next few weeks. I was very happy to read that if the baby is born anytime after the end of this week, she has 95% chance of survival.

How far along? 28 weeks + 0 days

Due date? September 6, 2015

Baby’s size? Baby Allie is the size of a head of cauliflower (around 16 inches and 2.5 lbs.).

Workouts: Ran 14 miles + 3 strength training workouts.

  • Monday: 3.5 mile power walk on the treadmill – I was sore from gardening so I skipped my run
  • Tuesday: 4 mile run + 1 mile walk + upper body weights
  • Wednesday: 3 mile run + a 4 milk walk w/ Tony (I love when he walks with me)
  • Thursday: 4 mile walk with Tony
  • Friday: 2 mile run + 1 mile walk + upper body weights
  • Saturday: 5 mile run coaching with CES
  • Sunday: Erica’s interval workout . I loved this workout! I’m usually really bad about keeping up with strength training, so I’m going to try to incorporate more workouts like this into my routine. I loved that the strength training part of the workout was short, but frequent.
Loved this workout!

Maternity clothes? Yes, but I’m wearing my regular workout clothes. I received this months Stitch Fix box and I think I found a dress for my baby shower!

Sleep: I’m still sleeping 8-10 hours a night, but I’ve been eating watermelon for a night time snack so I’ve been waking up to pee 3-4 times per night!

Best moment this week: I had a few favorite moments this week:

  • Coaching with Susie on Tuesday!
South Loop Runners!

  • Lunch with my Mom on Friday afternoon.
  • Taking a few long walks with Tony.
  • Going to the farmer’s market with Tony, Katie, Ari, and Lylah on Sunday.

Miss Anything? Wine and going for a long run without needing to stop and pee.

Movement: Allie has turned into a big wiggler! I absolutely love feeling her move inside me. <3

Food cravings: Watermelon, eggs, grilled chicken, and greek yogurt. I think my body wants protein.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week! :)

Gender: Girl!

Name: Allison Kay Larsen

Symptoms: Pelvic pressure when I run, peeing every hour, sensitive gums, and my huge baby bump.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: No crying for me this week. I’m feeling great.

Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound at 32 weeks.

  1. Okay – what the crap. How are you possibly 28 weeks pregnant?! I feel gigantic compared to you lol. And you are still running! I try, but it’s so hard to do anything but run/walk intervals (this South Alabama heat certainly isn’t helping.)

    • Hah – you just made me laugh out loud! You look gorgeous, Erica! My baby bump might not look big, but you should see my upper body. My arms have seriously doubled in size and it’s not because I’ve been lifting weights. I’m still running around 15 miles per week, but I’ve gotten much slower. I’m doing a lot more runs on the treadmill b/c the heat is a killer!

      • Treadmill is about the only way I can run at all anymore (aside from 1/4 mile sprints for that workout!) I’ve gained a bit on my hips/thighs, but we both look all belly! I’m so happy being pregnant I love the way I look – it’s just so crazy to see how differently women carry! I don’t want him to come before he’s physically ready, but I’d be SO OKAY if my son was a few weeks early (he’s been measuring ahead since 18 weeks and it appears I am as well!)

  2. I have not wanted protein at all lately- only carbs! It’s so strange but I’m just going with it.
