Treat Yourself Tuesday 9.15.15

Today I am linking up with Becky from Olives ‘n’ Wine to Treat Yourself Tuesday.

Mommyhood is not a sexy occupation, but just because I’m hanging around the house in my sweat pants and I’m cleaning up poop all day it doesn’t mean I should forget about taking care of myself. So each week I’m going to try to do a few nice things for myself and share them with you. Here are my recent treats…

Cuddling with my best friend.

Allie

Allie will be three weeks old tomorrow and she’s starting to be a lot more alert. I love cuddling and staring at her beautiful eyes. I’m on cloud nine when I hold her. She is my favorite treat of all time!

Visiting Grandma and Maxie.

Grandma and Max

We’ve had a lot of visitors over the past few weeks, but Monday was the first day we ventured out to visit Grandma and Maxie. It was nice to get out of the house for awhile and since it was my Mom’s house I felt really comfortable breastfeeding there. I’m really nervous about nursing in public and I’m not sure I’ll ever been comfortable with the idea.

Getting A Manicure.

NailsIf you know me, you know I’m obsessed with having nice nails. I’ve been getting a simple manicure once a week for the past 4 years so going three weeks without a manicure because of Allie being born was hard. My nails looked awful and I couldn’t wait to get them done.

I pumped enough milk and waited for Tony to come home from work and I left the house for an hour to get a manicure. Of course, I cried and felt terrible for leaving her, but it was nice to feel like my old self again.

How have you treated yourself lately?

  5. It seems you are doing well 🙂 A mani/pedi is so relaxing. I haven’t gotten a manicure in a LONG TIME. Maybe I should do that for myself soon (before China?).

  6. This is such a good idea. It seems like just thinking of something as a treat makes it more special, Even if you were going to do it anyway… Does that make sense?
My favorite treats are getting a pedicure, browsing (alone!) at a bookstore for a new book, and my daily beloved vanilla latte.

  7. Yes, it totally makes sense. I love browsing alone too.

  8. Great pictures! I am so glad you are prioritizing taking care of yourself!!! I know so many moms who run themselves completely ragged and it really takes a toll on them after awhile. That “me” time is SO important!!!

Manicures make such a difference in terms of feeling pulled together! I love that color, too. Very classic!

    • The “me” time is so important because being a mom is a 24/7 job & it was nice to take a little break. Thanks, I’m loving a natural light pink color lately.

  9. Love, love the pictures of Allie. I am glad you are taking/making time to take care of yourself. I am sorry you felt terrible for leaving her with Tony while you did something nice for yourself.
