There were some ups and downs this weekend. Friday was a tough day dealing with the fertility treatments and lots of emotions. Thanks goodness Tony knows what to say and how to make me laugh no matter what’s going on.
Saturday started with a beautiful sunrise and then coaching with CES. The rest of the day was pretty laid back. I was able to get some work done and clean around the house. I used to love super busy weekends, but lately I’m finding this down time really enjoyable.
Sunday was another early morning along the lakefront trail. I volunteered to work the Diversey Fleet Feet Hydration Station with the #runCHI group. Lots of water and Gatorade were consumed by many happy runners. I LOVED being out there on such a beautiful morning, seeing so many familiar faces and catching up with running friends.
I have wanted to go to the beach or pool for months and we finally had the chance to go this afternoon. Tony and I met up with Katie, Ari, and Lylah at the Skokie pool. On the drive there we started to see a lot of clouds so I thought it was going to be too cold to swim, but luckily the water was pretty warm. I ended up swimming laps for 30 minutes and then playing with sweet Lylah. I can’t get enough of her!
Overall, it turned out to be a great weekend!
Sorry to hear Friday was tough, but it sounds like you have a perfect partner to go through this with. I hope you get some good news soon, I’ve been thinking about you.
I hear you on quiet weekends! Mine have been non-stop for months. I finally get a break this coming weekend and I can’t wait.

I hope you get good news soon.
Looks like a great weekend! I often have busy weekends but it is so nice to have a pretty relaxing weekend with nothing to do (other than run!).

Loved seeing you out there, Nina and so glad Margaret had Body Glide for you!
It was great seeing you on Sunday on the trail. I wish I had been able to get some hydration at your table! Anyway, that pool trip sounds fun. I need to get to an outdoor pool before the season ends!
It was great seeing you, Pete! I’m sorry we didn’t have any water left. Glad to hear you still had a great run!
I love my weekends when I can just relax and recover from my long run on Saturday.
