Soldier Field 10 Mile Race – 2014

SF10 logoSpring training with CES ended on Saturday with the Solider Field 1o Mile race. Being there to see all the participants cross the finish line with smiles on their faces is something that won’t ever get old. The participants trained through a tough end of winter/beginning of spring and they deserved those medals.

CES Coaches

Over the past year, I’ve become really good friends with the other CES coaches. I finally feel like I’ve found other runners that really accept and support me.

Friends

Going into the race, I had been concerned with my left knee so I knew I wouldn’t be “racing” it, just running for fun. I’ve been having some patellar tendon pain so I’m trying to rest before I start coaching the Marathon training with CES.

Finish on the 50

Finishing on the 50 yard line and seeing all the service men and women wearing their military uniforms is such an awesome experience. The race is extremely well-organized with outstanding volunteers. Every year, Fleet Feet Sports exceeds my expectations.

  3. Oh boo on the pain.

It is a great race. But I had plans to run in NY and well you see how that worked out. ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh well, next year right?
