CPR Training & Long Weekend Plans

CPR Training & Long Weekend Plans

Happy Friday!! How’s your day going so far? I didn’t sleep very well last night but it’s a beautiful morning, I’m super excited for the long weekend, and nothing could put me in a bad mood.

Yesterday I did something pretty exciting…I got CPR/AED certified. I’ve been thinking about becoming an ACE certified group fitness instructor. To become an instructor you need to be CPR/AED certified and I thought it would be a good skill to learn if I get ACE certified or not.

We named him Brad.

Brad was a sweet talker and this is the most action I’ve seen in months…lol. I wish I was kidding.

The class was a little boring towards the end but I learned a lot and feel good knowing I could help save someone’s life.ย  I think everyone should take the CPR training and it should be mandatory to take in high school and college. Why don’t we learn life skills in school anymore? Anyway…

I’m super excited for the holiday weekend. Today I’m meeting Kristen for lunch at Expressly Leslie which is the cutest vegetarian cafe. Kristen is my running buddy and since I’ve been injured we haven’t seen each other much and we have a lot to catch up on.

Tomorrow is a big day for #runnerds in Chicago. It’s Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10 Mile.

The race starts outside Soldier Field, travels along Chicago’s lakefront path and ends on the 50-yard line. I’ve heard so many great things about this race and I REALLY wish I could run it. BUT…the next best thing is to volunteer! I’m volunteering for American Cancer Society DetermiNation and I will be coaching/cheering for all the amazing runners at mile 4. I’ll be there sporting my sexy boot and cheering my little heart out so please come by and say hi!

  1. Haha–you had me LOL’ing with that comment about Brad! Don’t worry, doll, I haven’t even seen that much in months! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you had a fun time at the race this morning. I imagine it might be a little tough to be there when you couldn’t run, but hopefully you were able to enjoy it anyway! Have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. How exciting that you might get into Group Fitness! ๐Ÿ™‚ It really is a great job, challenging at times but so rewarding and fun ๐Ÿ™‚

I was thinking about training for the 10, but with everything we have going on thought it would be best to wait. I do hope you injury heals soon! ๐Ÿ™‚
