Pregnancy Update – Week 13

Pregnancy Update – Week 13

This week was exciting because we had a prenatal screening test. I went to the Glenview hospital with my Mom and Tony on Monday to have the fetal ultrasound and maternal blood testing done. The screening process can help to determine the risk of the fetus having certain birth defects such as Down syndrome.

I loved the ultrasound part of the test because we got to watch baby Larsen for a good 30 minutes. Baby was sleeping and very stubborn during the test and didn’t want to wake up so it took a little longer, but I  could have laid there watching baby all day. My heart was melting during the entire ultrasound.

After the ultrasound we had a quick follow up with the doctor who told us baby Larsen was looking “perfect” and said we’ll find out the blood test results in a little over a week.

  1. How exciting to see Baby Larsen for 30 whole minutes! You gotta love this modern technology. Poor guy/gal had to wake up for the test? Well at least after it was done, they could go back to sleep for another six months. Must be nice! 🙂
