Pregnancy Update – Week 8

Pregnancy Update – Week 8

Happy Friday! It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Glenview and I have some fun plans this afternoon so I would say it’s a happy Friday! I woke up feeling sick, but I’m feeling better right now and I’ll take it. One minute I’ll be on the verge of throwing up and the next I feel perfectly fine – it’s crazy and I’m just going with the flow.

I ran 3 miles this morning which to me is a huge accomplishment. I’m run/walking 3x’s a week and I’m perfectly happy with that. I’m not trying to go fast or beat any records, I’m just doing what feels good.

Pregnancy Update – 8 Weeks

How far along? 8 weeks + 5 days

Due date? September 6, 2015

Baby’s size? Baby Larsen is the size of a raspberry. You can see in the ultrasound it has a head and a butt now. Woohoo!

Total weight gain: 4 pounds. Most of this is in my boobs and I’m starting to getting a little stomach.

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I mostly wear leggings anyway so I probably won’t buy any until it gets warmer outside.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: I couldn’t sleep last night, but I’m still averaging 10 hours a night.

Best moment this week: Having lunch at Panera with my sister Whitney. I haven’t seen her since I found out I was pregnant so it was nice to catch up. She is so unbelievably excited for me. It was also the first time I’ve ever had a bagel from Panera and it was good! I’ll definitely be going back for more. Charlyn says I need to try the cinnamon crunch bagel so that’s next on my list.

Also, getting discharged from my fertility clinic on Wednesday. It’s crazy I’ve been going there at least once a week for the past year and now I’m done. I’m going to miss my nurse, but I’m so excited to move onto the next stage. I’ll meet with my OBGYN on Feb 6.

Panera Bagel

Miss Anything? Nothing this week.

Movement: Not yet.

Food cravings: CARBS, bagels, frozen yogurt, meat, granola bars, and PB&Js.

Frozen yogurt

Anything making you queasy or sick: Strong smells.

Gender: TBD

Name: TBD

Symptoms: Nauseous, tired, and emotional. I had a good cry last night. 🙂

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody: Happy, but moody at times. I was getting Subway this week and the lady wasn’t given me many veggies and I almost freaked out at her. That would have never happened before. My filter has gone away.

Looking forward to: Meeting with my OBGYN on Feb 6.

Any good restaurant recommendations for Chicago or the Northshore? Can you tell all I think about is food? 😉

  1. I love Panera too. Lately I’ve been going to Corner Bakery to grade papers and to eat. The food is pretty good there too. Very similar.

Let me know when you want to get together.

  2. I didn’t realize you were still in the fertility clinic. Is that the reason you haven’t ran in a while? Or because you were feeling sick from all the fertility drugs, etc? This must also be the reason why you have not ran a lot of miles.

Great job on running 3 miles. I’ll be happy when I can run 3 miles again (injury sucks).

Hi, I just tagged you for a 30 day yoga challenge. You can make the challenge however you like (meaning, you can do just 10 mins a day or focus on a yoga pose). All the details are on my blog 🙂

I LOVE Panera’s Cinnamon Crunch bagel. I can’t believe you haven’t tried it yet.

    • Yes, I wasn’t allowed to run during IVF. I’m so glad to be done!! Everyone seems to be obsessed with this bagel. Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the info about the yoga challenge!

  3. So happy you are feeling good for the most part and are able to run! I hope you get to enjoy a cinnamon crunch bagel soon- I just couldn’t resist and had one on Saturday and it hit the spot 🙂

    • Thank you! I’ve looked at the cinnamon crunch bagels on the Panera website twice since you told me about them. I will be ordering one soon. 🙂

  4. The cinnamon crunch bagel is awesome! Also, the shortbread cookies are fantastic.

I asked for jalapenos on my sandwich and the lady put on like 4 of the tiniest jalapenos. I just looked at her and said “Could I have a few more please?” in a not so nice way. Oopsie! 🙂
