Holiday Hundred with Fleet Feet’s #RunChi

Fleet Feet’s social media team, #RunChi is pushing themselves to cover 100 miles this holiday season and we want you to join us. Whether it’s swimming, biking, running, rowing, or walking, we want to make sure we’re keeping our heart rates up, even when the temperature goes down.

Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to cover 100 miles between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. You can hit the pavement solo or with a running group; do it all running or mix it up with multiple sports. You can choose to workout daily, or try to fit something in each week. It’s up to you.

But whatever your method, you’ll be in great shape by the time all those New Year’s Resolutioners hit the gym.

So join the #RunChi Holiday Hundred challenge page on Daily Mile (if you don’t have an account, click here to learn more.) And join the #RunChi conversation on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for support. The #RunChi team will be blogging about their efforts, too.

There’s no prize for the athlete who covers the most distance, but bragging rights are all yours. So get your Garmin and get going. The challenge starts Nov. 28.

P.S. Since we know it’s re-hab, pre-hab, base-building, strength training season for many, we’ll count any fitness activity. Just keep track yourself and log 1 mile for every 15 minutes of non-mileage accumulating activity (like yoga, zumba, spin, boxing, core work, etc.) This gets a little complicated to track, but if you choose Fitness as the activity to log on Daily Mile you can manually enter a distance.

  2. Sounds like a fun challenge. If all goes according to plan I should get in over 200 miles running in that time period. Hopefully, I can stick to the plan and not get injured/sick. I would have to translate my gym workouts and yoga too to see what grand total I come up with. Looking forward to the track on Thursday! 🙂
